  2. Hi Kathy,
    This is used to graph a students reading progress from spring to spring. The students or teacher plots the data on the chart with a data point taken from a MAP test or a fluency drill to show students growth over time. The MAP test gives you a RIT level and a Lexile level. If you are not using the NWEA MAP test you may need to do your own data analysis and modify the goal setting work sheet. This is a great tool to use with students to set goals and show growth. Setting goals with your students is a powerful tool to motivate and make substantial growth in reading. Is your school developing or considering a Response to Intervention program(RTI)? The goals are set very high so some teacher may want to lower the goals and expectations, but I find even with my Title I student they step up and take the challenge. Sean
