A Cure for Autism?

Is Their a Cure for Autism?

Can we cure Autism, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Aspergers, and a number of other so called brain disorders! No, we can help those children and adults that are cognitively different with compensatory skills, help them function in a world that does not yet understand them. Growing up as a severely Dyslexic learner I have heard so many ridiculous ideas and promises about cures and causes for my language difficulties. Most from people just trying to sell you on their programs and ideas, with no clear idea as to the disconnect students face daily. The secret that most teachers and "specialist" will not tell you, is, most compensatory skills are learned with hours and hours of repetition, sometime thousands of hours of tedious repetition. Schools today are not equipped to help students with these repetitive tasks and
lessons that take so much teacher time and resources. Students may get a very basic mastery of academic skills, and life skills if they are very lucky. Many students that do not have constant superlative instruction and great family support revert back to maladapted habits that leave them lost in today's complex educational environment. Today many students with connotative difficulties are warehoused, not even getting a basic education. With dwindling budgets students are at a greater risk not even getting the chance at the minimum that is required to give them and their families hope. With the rise of  Autism, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Aspergers in children, schools are overwhelmed and ill-equipped to meet the children’s needs!
The experts are all lining up to give advice, parent are not sure what to believe. What is the answer?

Please share successful compensatory skills you have learned or found!
