The Autistic Shaman

The Teacher as Shaman and Sage | Teachers that experience the world of academics, and social emotional development through the crucible of hardship and struggle, self doubt, self sabotage, frustration and even self loathing can use that wisdom and experience to help students succeed. Being a successful teacher is always more than getting students to learn academic skills and pass standardized test, they must be able to help children find clarity of purposes that equates to engagement, perseverance and resilience. Most Shaman and or Sages find wisdom and clarity of thought due to struggles with neurological impairments and or physical impairments, this struggle transforms and transcends them, from teacher and student, to Sage and Shaman.
