in cursive using their non-dominant hand. The second twist on this test is they must write it backwards, upside-down and from right to left. All the extra processing and over thinking that it requires gives an experiential analogue of Dyslexic word recall and spelling recall!. These extra mental steps in the brains lexile systems give a small clue to the coping mechanism a dyslexic student goes through. Parents teachers, students, and families need to understand the struggle is real.
