Hands-on STEM Problem using Keva Planks!

Here's a Hands-on problem using Keva planks:

Problem: "Keva Krazy!"

Background: Your team has been tasked with creating a structure using only Keva planks. The structure must be able to withstand a simulated earthquake and also be visually appealing.

Challenge: Your team must design and build a structure using Keva planks that can withstand a simulated earthquake. The structure must be at least 12 inches tall and 8 inches wide. The structure must also have at least one cantilever level that is completely suspended off the ground, supported only by the Keva planks.

Additional Requirements:

- The structure must incorporate a moving component that is activated by the earthquake simulation.

- The earthquake simulation must be created using materials provided by the judges. Your team will have a limited amount of time to test and modify your structure before the earthquake simulation.

Scoring:

- Visual Appeal: The judges will evaluate the structure based on its creativity and overall appearance.

- Stability: The structure must be able to withstand the earthquake simulation without collapsing.

- Moving Component: The judges will evaluate the movement and functionality of the moving component during the earthquake simulation.

Materials:

- Keva planks

- Earthquake simulation materials provided by the judges

Time limit:

- 10 minutes total to design, build, and test the structure

- 5 minutes to test and modify the structure before the earthquake simulation

- 1 minute earthquake simulation

Good luck, and have fun with this Minds on a hands-on problem using Keva planks!
