Readers Theater: The Elephant and the Mouse Dentist

Title: The Elephant and the Mouse Dentist

Narrator: Once upon a time, in the vast savannahs of Africa, there lived a herd of elephants. These majestic creatures roamed freely across the grasslands, enjoying the warm sun and the lush vegetation. However, there was one thing that frightened them more than anything else: the tiny, harmless mouse.

Elephant 1: (terrified) Look out! A mouse!

Elephant 2: (also scared) Oh no, not a mouse! Let's get out of here!

Narrator: The elephants would stampede in fear whenever they saw a mouse, even though the tiny rodent posed no real threat to them. One day, a brave little mouse named Denny decided to find out why.

Denny: (approaches the elephants) Excuse me, why are you afraid of me?

Elephant 3: (surprised) We're not afraid of you, we just... um... don't like mice.

Denny: But why? I'm just a small mouse, I can't hurt you.

Elephant 1: Well, we've heard stories about mice crawling into elephants' trunks and causing all sorts of trouble.

Denny: (laughing) That's just a myth! I'm actually a dentist, and I take care of elephants' teeth. You see, elephants love sweet fruit, but it can damage their teeth if they don't brush them regularly.

Elephant 2: (interested) Really? We do love sweet fruit, but we didn't know that.

Denny: (nodding) Yes, that's why I'm here. I can clean your teeth and make sure they're healthy, so you don't have to worry about getting cavities or toothaches.

Elephant 3: (curious) But how can you clean our teeth? You're so small!

Denny: (smiling) That's where my mouse friends come in. They have tiny brushes and tools that can reach all the way into your mouth, and they're very gentle.

Narrator: The elephants were skeptical at first, but they decided to give it a try. They let Denny and his mouse friends clean their teeth, and they were amazed at how good it felt.

Elephant 1: (surprised) Wow, my teeth feel so clean and fresh! I didn't even know they could feel like this.

Elephant 2: (happy) And we can still eat sweet fruit without worrying about our teeth!

Elephant 3: (grateful) Thank you, Denny. You've shown us that mice can be our friends, not our enemies.

Narrator: From that day on, the elephants and the mice lived together in peace and harmony. The elephants no longer feared the tiny rodents, and the mice were welcomed as dentists and helpers. And whenever they enjoyed a sweet fruit, they smiled with clean and healthy teeth, thanks to their little mouse friends.

The end.
