Dynamic Assessment Continuous Formative Assessment

Dynamic assessment is an interactive formative assessment used in education. Dynamic assessment is a product of the research conducted by developmental psychologist Lev Vygotsky. As an alternative assessment modality, it seeks to identify the skills that an individual child possesses as well as their full learning potential (Zone of Proximal Development). The dynamic assessment procedure emphasizes the hands-on learning curiosity-driven process and accounts for the amount and nature of investment between teacher-students and student-teachers. It is ongoing, formative, highly interactive and hands-on process-oriented. It has become popular among educators, psychologists and speech and language pathologists.
